Each country has it's own unique history and in particualr Malaysia has a rich and indelibly linked history to that of Indonesia. There are many examples of Keris like weapons all over South East Asia and this site is dedicated to discovering more about the history of these weapons and sharing that information with all who are interested. The Keris incredibly complex and sophiticated work of the craftsmans art. It takes decades for master craftsmen to atain the peak of their craft. often they never do. In this section we will endeavour to detail the anatomy of the many parts of the keris and explain the intricacies of manufacture and the history behind the parts and how together they for the final weapon.. Taking Care of a Keris The keris is more than a weapon. It is to many a mystical extension of the individual and his family. They are heirlooms treated with reverence. They can be symbols or power and authority. Or they can simply be works of art that collectors will accummulate. But no matter what they represent, care must be taken of the weapons and this section will go into the details of the ceremony the mystisism and the essentails of caring for this most honourable of weapons. We will invite people who have large gallaries, museums and others to allow us to display gallaries of their pieces and hopefully build a site with a huge array of wonderful items for us all to view.
